About Delita

This life has taken me on quite a journey. I have now lived on three continents. Major life shifts, including these long-distance relocations, keep raising questions for me. Questions with which we’re all familiar in our own way.  

Where is ‘home‘?

Who are ‘my people‘?

What does it mean ‘to belong‘?

To what extent do we need any of these?

Always I have returned to art as a way of exploring, processing, expressing, feeling and finding my way. An unexpected side effect is that making art has also served as a way of making connection and building community. 

For years, creating art has been a very private practice for me. Now, I am starting to follow the crumbs on a new path and seeing where the desire to share more of my art will lead.

On a very cold and serendipitous winter morning, I found myself in an unusually full coffee shop in Alderley Edge. On this particular Tuesday, it was overflowing with a group of urban sketchers, the MaccSketchers, who struck up a conversation and promptly invited me along to join their weekly meets. This was a wonderful nudge into a new realm and the start of many wonderful new friendships.
